#CableCarChristmas has taken flight....

An amazing amount of work was done on Sat Nov 24 and Sunday Nov 25 to almost bring the decorating for this year to a close. There are some final touches to be done...but all the cars are now road worthy and you should see on the streets.

With a huge thank you to Val Lupiz for the photos (as i was out of town over Thanksgiving) i bring you the 2018 Cable Car Christmas Lineup. A word about the respective sponsors is below as well.

Car 1: The San Francisco Chronicle is a new sponsor to the family in 2018. The car is currently decorated and the unique #TotalSF touches will be added in a few weeks.

Car 11: The Blazing Saddles Bike Rental and Tours Hyde St location is another new sponsor. They are located at the end of the Powell-Hyde line.

Car 12: We partnered up with Market Street Railway this year and they decorated a car. They are a very vital organization whose mission is to preserve historic transit in San Francisco.

Car 23: The Union Square Skating Rink located in..you guessed it..Union Square...is back for another year. They are also opening a second location, Winter Park Rink, at Civic Center. Be sure to check out their new location.

Car 25: The Buena Vista Cafe is back for another year. They are also located at the end of the Powell-Hyde line.

Cars 26 and 56: These cars are sponsored by Pacific Coast and Flag Co.. You have probably seen some of their flags around town (including the cable cars and E and F-line streetcars).

Car 60: This car is currently not sponsored. All of the #cablecarchristmas elves were in such the spirit this past weekend, they decided to do an additional one (giving the California Line a second car). We are always looking for new sponsors. If you or a company you know would like to make a tax-deductible donation to help sponsor the annual Senior Holiday Luncheon put on by members of MUNI's Cable Car Division, we are always looking for more participants.

For those of you who have an opportunity to spend some time during the holidays in San Francisco, i hope you get a chance to ride and appreciate these works of art. I hope it also helps to put you in the Christmas spirit. A lot of effort was put in my many elves to decorate these historic vehicles. If you do see them and take pictures, be sure to include #cablecarchristmas in the post!

Best wishes from the cablecar elves! Happy Holidays!
